For CSF, urine, stool or source, order VIRCUL, or for the most sensitive detection of Herpes simplex encephalitis, order Herpes Simplex Virus by PCR (HSVRTP). Specimen requirement: 1 mL CSF. This test is specific for Herpes simplex virus only It cannot be used to determine presence or absence of other viruses. |
