Collection ProcedureCollect a random urine specimen in a leakproof plastic urine container.
Specimen ProcessingAliquot 10 ml of a random urine specimen and adjust pH to 1-3 with 6N HCL.

LimitationsDrugs known to interfere Aldomet, Buspirone, Codeine, Isoproterenol Metabolite, Mandelamine, and Metoclopramide. MHBA a compound of dietary origin from peppers can interfere. Additional potential interferants are Acetaminophen in high concentrations and patients receiving L-DOPA as treatment for Parkinson's Disease. Samples received with a pH of less than 1 can cause assay interference.
